Guided by our AUVSI Pathfinder Chapter objectives to: a) Provide an organization for individuals who have a common interest in, and who wish to foster and expand, the domain of Unmanned Vehicle Systems, b) Advance technology, c) Exchange ideas and information in the field of Unmanned Vehicle Systems and to recognize the advances and contributions thereto, and d) Promote the education of the membership and the general public in the field of Unmanned Vehicle Systems, e) Document the history of Unmanned Vehicle Systems, we have continued to challenge ourselves to provide opportunities for our members and the local community through our annual symposium, grant programs, support of local robotics events and our partnership with the AUVSI Pathfinder student chapter at the University of Alabama Huntsville (UAH). The Pathfinder Chapter is the oldest AUVSI Chapter began in 1989, and became a 501c6 non-profit organization focused on education in 2007. Over $600,000 Awarded STEM related Grants  since 1989 by the end of 2018.

 In support of these objectives, the Pathfinder Charitable Fund (PFC) a 501c(3) non profit was established  in 2013 to provide a means of funding various goals within the local community.  One of those goals is the grants provided each year to local K – 12 robotics teams.  These grants help the recipients fund everything from providing seed money to establish a new robotics team, to purchasing parts to explore new avenues in unmanned technology,   to participating in robotics competition to measure design solutions against other likeminded teams. The PCF has been creating new relationships via Cooperative Research and Development Agreements CRADAS, with Government partners to conduct Technical Interchange Meetings that mutually benefit Government, Academia, Small Business, Industry and the community

AFCEA (formerly known as the Armed Forces Communications Electronics Association) Huntsville is the local Chapter 198 of AFCEA International.  AFCEA International and AFCEA Huntsville are non-profit entities with the mission of improving communication and collaboration between government, industry and academia in the areas of command and control, electronics, cyber, intelligence, STEM and associated subjects.

GEOHuntsville (a 501c6 non-profit organization) is a collaborative effort among businesses, academia and government entities to support workforce growth and economic development in our region. We strive to bring awareness to the professional expertise that exists in our region and identify job opportunities to continue to build the economic base and establish Huntsville as a major corridor for geospatial excellence.
